as of today logic 8 and tdm is full of bugs, there are all the old logic 7
bugs plus some very annoying new entries.
I do not know the situation with mac intels, but with PPC you should get the
latest released g5, like dual 2.7 or quad and stay with logic 7.2.3, i'm
using PT 7.1, this is the best combination of stability and bugs for use
Logic DTDM in osx.
THE BEST VERSION ANYWAY IS STILL THE LOGIC 6 PRO IN OS9 !!!!!
Consider that going to PT7 you will loose all HTDM plug-ins, in PT7 they
have been substituted by RTAS2, so in other words you can't use them in
Logic anymore (assuming you have any of that).
Wish they fix tdm issues with next logic release.
If you want to use Logic 8 be prepared as probably solo doesn't works as
expected and there are some problems with stereo splitted files, add to it
all the old logic 7 bugs that are still alive and you will have one of the
crapppiest combinations ;)
Logic 7.1.1 i remember clearly that was really unstable, LOT of crashes,
expecially when you use extensively DTDM, logic 7.2 has solved most of that
crashes, i mean now instead of crash it reloads DTDM (like when you open the
song), that is much better than crash!!!
Actually i'm using logic 8.0.1 but i've switched my workflow, i've turned
off DTDM and i'm using core audio with a big ADAT rig to go into TDM, go
back some threads if you want more infos.
I still use Logic 7.2.3 when i want to work extensively in TDM.
hope this helps bye!!!
