I suggest you unpack the takes folder before cutting if you're having
problems with it. It's a PIA but you can get everything out of the
folder. I've seen others flatten the performance immediately after
they track it too.
Try unpacking the takes folder before editing. and use a new track
for assembling comps. If there are a lot of edits, you could repack
them into a traditional folder, which is what I do for drums, and
vocals typically anyway.
You can upack the takes folder by clicking on the take menu... Then
select all the regions, go to the region menu: folder: Pack Folder.
You may not need to do this, but I find it helpful to get 12 takes
out of the main arrangement window.
