Subject: [L-TDM] Logic as slave over MidiOverLan
Message #25246
Hi All, Bought another Logic Key and am using second G5 for Logic hosting various plugins that tend to eat up my main rig. Audio is fed back to main rig via Fireface opti. I do not engage sync on the Logic slave, no midi time code..it sits stationary and just passes audio from the plugs. Audio works well....but the midi is not stable over MidiOverLan. (Which I use successfully thruout the studio for the PC slaves) Once I start the G5 Slave, MOL midi monitor shows input. When I launch Logic, it does not recognize the incoming midi..nothing. Then I quit Logic, hit reset midi drivers in prefs, and it works..for awhile. Although this Logic slave never goes into play, i start to get "audio and midi conflict" messages. All is word clocked properly and sample rates set correctly. Sorry for the long-winded explanation, but in short, does MidiOverLan not work well Mac to Mac? Has anyones used this configuration successfully? Thanks for any advice Mark
