Yea, i find I can only get about 30% or less of the power under RTAS
as I can with core audio or ESB with my dual 2.7 gig G5...I NEVER
pushed the limits of the native engine while using Logic and I'm
bumping into quite a bit with PT. PT7 was supposed to bring more
efficient RTAS but i can't say i've seen it. Maybe digi's own AIR
inst are the only plugs to take advantage of it. i definitely
couldn't get the job done without my Gigastudios. I'm considering
some sort of advanced patchbay system so I can easily go between an
HD2 protools rig and a native setup with a 2408mkiii in the same
computer. besides the RTAS limitations PT7.3.1 is a killer update
though.
