This is a reply to #24734.
An Apogee dealer sent me some stuff to try, and maybe I am just used to doing things a certain way, but I did miss my TDM rig. I love the sound of Apogee converters, I use them as a front end for my HD rig, but maybe it is just the way I work. I have friends who use the same converters as me in a core based system and have no problems with the latency, however small. My sessions tend to be quite big, not unusual to have 40 or 50 tracks running happily, and this is where I worry that there will be problems. Maybe I need to give it another go. The other major issue is, the majority of studio's that I mix in, I can happily just take a couple of Hard Drive's and re-assign my outputs to the SSL or Neve, and I am away. Maybe it will change but the big studio's still seem to be TDM based..... --- In logic-tdm@yahoogroups.com, Bob DeMaa <bobdemaa@...> wrote: > > How can you say core audio doesn't cut it?
