In Brief. People use Logic as a Front End for Pro Tools because it gives them access to a few important things. Zero Latency Recording TDM Plug-ins 48 bit fixed signal path. Not all of the functionality that you have in Pro Tools is included in Logic, but most of the important ones are there.
