Hi,
this is especially for MacPro 2.66 (perhaps also the other ones)
users with more than 2 GB of Ram.
Can someone make a test for me please? You just have to use more than
2 GB of physical Ram with any app (I have tested it with Logic and
Quicktime). So use lots of samples in Logic or open a couple of
movies or Audio-CDs in Quicktime. Open the activity window and report
me what it is shown concerning the physical ram usage.
My problem is that if I use more than these 2GB the activity window
shows the following:

So, Logic is using more physical ram than the NASA has!? Shortly
after that Logic (or Quicktime) crashes with crash report and song
(crashed).lso. I am doing primarily orchestral stuff and that is
impossible with just 2GB of Ram available.
The computer was 2 weeks in "reparation" but without succes. All
hardware tests are fine...
SetUp (not TDM yet with this workstation): MacPro 2.66, 5GB Ram, OSX.
4.8, Logic 7.2.3
Many thanks!!!!
Axel
P.S.: I wonder why the bootcamp windows is also just able to acces 2
GB of Ram. If you use more here, windows comes up with a "please free
some ram and close other applications" while the running application
freezes. Perhaps it is a big hardware issue in these MacPros.
