The "blue" probably comes from the expression "out of the blue" as in "that idea came to me out of the blue", meaning out of nowhere (blue being the colour of the sky and all). There is also a wild blue yonder but that's probably a little too advanced for right now. If you saw the Oscars last night you might have seen Jim Carry praising Blake Edwards' movie " A Shot in the Dark" as the perfect comedy. It is, and features Peter Sellers (and Elke Sommer!) doing some wonderful things to the English language as well. Check it out. Victor
