It certainly does bug me, but I wouldn't be too quick to point the
finger of blame at Emagic. Remember, AudioSuite worked with PT 5.3,
but then was broken with 5.3.1. It could well be that Digidesign is
playing a little game behind the scenes, keeping things somewhat
flawed and hoping that it will drive users into switching to PT as
their main application. With Apple acquiring Emagic, and with the
competition that FCP is giving Avid, I can't imagine that the
relationship between the two companies is great.
Staying totally within Logic (without TDM) or totally within the land
of PT is certainly going to be a smoother ride. If the cooperation
was there, I'll bet things could work very well, but I'm wondering if
we'll ever get to that place.
