Searching Help

If you just want to do a simple search, simply enter your search terms above. Keywords must be 3 or more letters long, 1 and 2 letter words are ignored. If you aren't looking for messages from a certain person, just leave From set to "anyone" or leave it blank. Optionally you can use the operators listed below before any or all of your search keywords to fine tune your search.

Optional Advanced Per-Word Search Operators
None By default, the word is optional, but messages that contain it are rated higher.
+ A leading plus sign means this word must be present in every message found.
- A leading minus sign means the word must not be present in any message found.
> This operator means the word is more important to have in the results, but not absolutely necessary.
< This operator means the word is less important if it's in the results, but still somewhat wanted.
( ) You can group words into subexpressions, they can even be nested.
~ A leading tilde causes the word to give a result a lower ranking. This is similar to the - operator only it doesn't exclude the message completely, it will just score lower.
" You can enclose complete phrases in quotes, so the phrase must appear exactly in each match - even the punctuation must be the same.
Examples
logic pro Find messages that contain at least one of the two words
+logic +pro Find messages that contain both of the words.
+logic pro Find messages that contain "logic", but give them a higher score if they also contain "pro"
+logic -pro Find messages that contain "logic" but do not have the word "pro" in them.
+logic (>express <pro) Find messages that contain the word "logic". Give them a higher rank if they contain the words "express" or "pro", but give "express" a higher rank than "pro".
exs* Find messages that match the wildcard exs*: "exs", or also "exs24" or "exs24mkII".
"exs 24 mkII" Find messages that contain the exact phrase, "exs 24 mkII" - this would not match "exs24mkII" or "exs24 mkII" or "exs 24, mk II".
