When I wake my iMac from sleep mode, I cannot use certain USB MIDI devices
any more (Korg microKontrol + Evolution MK-249C keyboard). They are greyed
out in the Audio Midi Configuration.
Is this an Mac OS 10.4 bug or related to the Korg and Evolution drivers?
Hi, does anyone know where in L8 is the audio confiuration window?

It is no longer present in Logic 8.
BTW - this would be fine for the LUG, it is absolutely on topic.

I use an Isobox which is a box that my G5 lives in and isolates the
noise a bit. But it does take up extra room.
I remember there being talk a few years ago about a water cooled Mac.
One of the high end Macs was rumoured to have water flowing through it
to cool it down. Does this mean that there are no fans just water. Does
this means it is quiet.
If there is a way to cool a computer quietly I am sure it would be very
popular with audio/musician types.

Hi there,
I and two other game enthusiasts are working on an online multiplayer
computer game slated to be released next year. The game is called Link-Dead
and is being programmed by the same guy who made the game "Soldat"
if you've
ever heard of it. I am making all of the graphics in the game and we also
have a concept artist.
We are looking for a musician to work with us on the game. You must
understand that we can't offer you any money for this; all of us are working
on this game purely because we are passionate about what we do, be it
programming, game design or art work. If you are a person passionate about
writing music and would possibly like to get your name out, then I think you
will enjoy working with us.
We are looking for a sort of metal / industrial / dark ambient mix of music
with this game. If you think you can make that sort of music, then we would
be very pleased to work with you.
This isn't a position that is open to a single person. Anyone who wants to
contribute is welcome to submit a single song or whatever. All of us work on
this game every day and it is coming along at a great pace.
Here are some of the assets from the game:

You can read up on information about the game on these websites:

Thanks guys :)
I want to create a web site for my own music that would work like iTunes. I
need it so people
can listen to a portion of a song and buy the song or album if they want
using credit cards or
Pay Pal etc.
I know there are places like StoresOnline.com but I'd like to look at other
options like getting
the software and doing it myself. I'm thinking of contacting the credit card
companies for
info but I thought I'd fly this past anyone who's already bought the
t-shirt.
Thanks,

I have a water cooled G5 PPC 2.5 dual. Sometimes it sounds like a jet taking
off! So yes it does have fans and no it doesn't make it quieter... I like
the idea of an isolation box... did you make it or did you buy it?... How
hot does it get inside? Regards Hugo

Hi Peter
I use wimpy player for previewing audio on my site:
http://www.wimpyplayer.com/
I use Plimus for e-commerce: http://www.plimus.com
This combination works really well for my sample shop. Could easily work
with music as well.
Might just be what your looking for...
Check out my site to see it in action: http://www.goldbaby.co.nz/

Hi Hugo,
Thanks, that is just what I'm looking for. I noticed on the Wimpy site they
don't
recommend ColdFusion which is what I was thinking about. They recommend PSP.
Is that
what you use?
Cheers,
Peter

Hi Hugo,
I just went back to the Wimpy site and noticed that the Wimpy player has a
built in
ecommerce feature. Any reason why you didn't go with that?
Peter
Hey,
I've got a problem that I can't seem to remedy. Does anybody have any idea
what it is and how to remedy it?
I just replaced the 3v Lithium battery and closed the unit back up. I tried
the hard reset, but instead of an asterisk in the top left corner, I get
only an exclamation point. When I press program up anyway, a small
skull-like symbol and a capital "D" appear breifly then the unit
gives me
lines like "1 Unknwn Cmd 21 cnt=164 pi=24eb" or "p=3 fi=0
pi=40:24fm"
"pip=d29f" or "Too many zreg changes" or "Too many
dram offset lines" or
"Too many dram variables" when I press any button. If I leave the
unit alone
for a while, the advertising marquee scrolls across the screen. If I try to
turn that off in the utilities menu, the same error messages occur. What do
I need to do?
Thanks.
I was recommended Plimus by a software developer. Very easy to use and
trusted.
By the way, my site was created using Freeway and Comic life:
http://www.softpress.com
http://plasq.com/
It is a great way to create a site with next to no knowledge of HTML or
graphic design etc...

Hugo
This morning I was mixing in a session and the sound would all of the sudden
cut out. I would hear a digital 'pop' in the headphones, the cursor kept
moving; no sound. A friend recommended I reinstall LE7, which I did, and
run Tech Tool Deluxe, which I did. Problem solved.
Couple hours later, I reboot my computer, and now I can't open ANY project
files. It will stay open long enough to choose a project file, but halfway
through loading, Logic just quits. No error message, crash message,
nothing.
As an experiment, I opened the "Demo Song.Iso" that comes with
Logic. This
worked fine, but I don't really know what that means.
I've only been on Logic a few months--very little experience and
understanding of related jargon--but I'm a quick study. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Alex
I experience this quite often i both Pro7 and Pro8. It usually is one
of the plug-ins crashing even though they validate fine.
I just keep on trying to load the file until it works. Sometimes 2
times, sometimes 12. It always opens in the end...
For me it's either the Tritone plugs, EWQLSO or Spectrasonics Trilogy
that is the sinner most of the time, but it can happen to most...

Logic 7 was just donated to my studio, but the XSKEY was not included for
one reason or another. Is there a way to purchase an xskey or is this
sofware just useless without it. It downloaded fine it just wont let me
open the software.
any and all help is appreciated.
thanks,
zeke

The XSKey is mandatory. without it, Logic 7 won't run, so yes, whatever was
donated is useless without the Key. If you intend to run Logic 7, you will
need to look out for a genuine licence for sale. Otherwise, it is worth
considering Logic Studio with Logic Pro 8, which no longer requires an XSKey
and is the current version of Logic. Logic 7 is no longer offered by Apple.
kind regards

you could check out 123music store software that easyb.com is selling. you
may have to google those names to be exact. I havn't launched my own
store/site yet using their software but I did find them to be the only
software available for the artists to do it themselves. I didn't use it
because I don't know html and am still looking into other options like a
blog site like expressionengine. hope this helps - kier
The band I used to be in was called deee-lite. in the early 1990's we were a
pioneering tech-house and funk group with our most well-known song entitled'
groove is in the heart" I switched to using Logic about 7 years ago (
since
4.0 ) and am looking for a logic engineer to work freelance in NYC at my 3
Mac computer studio/ record label in chelsea,NYC. Musicians I have already
recorded on this current project include George Clinton, jerome rodgers, greg
thomas, ronkat of p-funk fame as well as rob manzoli from Outkast's latest
album. This is written and produced by me and others.
Since returning back to NYC after a decade living in london-I MISS MY UK
based ENGINEER BRAD and i need an pro logic engineer in NYC . alot more
people use pro-tools in the US !!! what's up with that. i love logic!

123 Music is a dope solution. I have just implemented it for our label.
Very simple and doesn't require HTML knowledge. It has a user
interface to load songs. You will however need to install it to a web
server.
This is one of the few solutions that will not take a percentage of
the sales.
That's me and I am a big fan. I used to dj with your band mates here in CT
back in the day with the muck crew.
I still do it just haven't seen any of your boys for a while.
Logic is no problem.
Hit me up.

I am using an Akai Z8. I am making kits out of drum samples from akai
CDROM's. The drum samples are loading as separate left and right
samples. I am joining them into a stereo sample on the Z8 manually. It
is taking a long time and I thought I better check if there is an easy
way to join seperate left and right akai samples. Because life is
short.

I am using logic rpc volume 1. I know its old but i am very comfortable
with it and I do not have the funds to buy an updated version at this time.
my computer was just updated to windows xp. logic rpc vol. 1 will only work
on windows 95, 98, or me. Apple no longer supports an update for logic
volume 1. If anyones knows of any links or solutions for this please let me
know thank you.
