They probably are painless to load, but I hope they sound better than
the demos which are not very nice except no.4 which I don't believe is
the samples.

Hi, I've been trying to "master" my own stuff for a while, but I
think I'm
going to give up and trust this part to a professional. Can anyone recommend
a good mastering house? My music is comparable to bands like Radiohead, the
Zombies, Badly Drawn Boy, Portishead, Pulp, Blur, Eliot Smith, Blonde
Redhead, The Pixies, etc. I'm sure it can use a bit of EQ correction.
Does anyone work with 24-bit mixdowns? I could be wrong but it seems that
would be better, and the ones I've looked at don't seem to work with 24-bit.
I would also be interested in recommendations for duplication.
Thanks in advance.

TASCAM FW-1884 NEW With Warranty $999 - $999
(Phoenix)-------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------
Reply to: sale-337931264@craigslist.org
Date: 2007-05-24, 10:43PM MST
For Sale my BRAND NEW Tascam FW-1884 New in box with all the drivers,
software and printed materials. NEVER BEEN USED or Taken out of its box.
I had sent my original FW-1884 to Tascam for servicing. A couple weeks ago
UPS dropped my unit on the way back to me. Tascam replaced my old unit with
this BRAND NEW one with one year warranty. I have NEVER used it. I only
opened it to see if everything was all right. I din't even take it out of
the packaging material. This is a brand new unit with one year warranty from
TASCAM.
Must sell immediately!
I am selling it because our air conditioning unit is broken and we need to
quickly raise enough money to pay for a new AC unit to be installed. My
parents are seniors and we are suffering without cooling.
Log on to Sweetwater Music, Sam Ash, or Guitar Center to see that the
FW-1884 is going for $1299.97.
The FW-1884 is a wonderful piece of hardware. It is a 18 in 18 out audio
interface/control surface with recording resolution up to 96KHz. As a DAW
control surface, it has motorized faders, and FOUR midi ins and outs. Also,
Gigastudio LE and Cubase LE comes with it for a complete solution.
Here's what Sweetwater says:
Firewire DAW Control Plus Audio and MIDI!
The FW-1884 is a professional DAW control surface and audio/MIDI interface
from Tascam that uses the FireWire high-speed data transfer protocol. Tascam
has used FireWire's high-bandwidth capabilities in the FW-1884 to provide
audio and MIDI interfacing to computers. The FW-1884's eight 100mm motorized
touch-sensitive channel faders and one master fader give you responsive
level control. In addition, pan, solo, mute and select functions are
provided on each channel. Tactile control for four bands of parametric EQ, a
weighted jog wheel and a variety of shortcut keys for various popular
software applications help complete the FW-1884 package.
Audio I/O For Every Use
Co-designed between Tascam and Frontier Design Group, the FW-1884's DAW
control capabilities include comprehensive mixing, automation, editing and
navigation tools. In addition to its surface control capabilities, the
FW-1884 provides eight balanced XLR analog mic/line inputs with high quality
mic preamps, phantom power and inserts on every channel. Using 24-bit/96kHz
A/D and D/A converters, the FW-1884 offers full 96kHz operation on all
analog I/O channels with compatible DAW software. In addition to its two
FireWire (IEEE 1394) computer interfaces, Tascam gives FW-1884 users eight
channels of ADAT lightpipe as well as stereo S/PDIF inputs and outputs.
Perfectly suited to multi-channel surround production as well as standard
stereo mixing, the FW-1884 provides eight analog outputs for simultaneous
connection to L/R and 5.1 surround matrices. A headphone output is also
provided.
MIDI I/O For Every Use
Four MIDI inputs and four MIDI outputs on the FW-1884 allow users to connect
with a 64 channels of MIDI sound generation and timing tools. Its Word Clock
in and out jacks allow computer systems to maintain accurate clock
synchronization in digital recording environments. Also, its assignable
footswitch jack can be used for tasks such as hands-free punching or MIDI
control. In use, the FW-1884 allows up to 18 audio inputs to be accessed at
once. As a DAW controller, the FW-1884 is compatible with a wide variety of
popular applications including MOTU Digital Performer", Steinberg
Cubase",
Steinberg Nuendo", Cakewalk Sonar", and more.
Expand On A Great Thing
For people who require simultaneous control of more audio channels, Tascam's
FE-8 expands the FW-1884 with eight additional channel control strips (100mm
motorized faders and dedicated control buttons). Multiple FE-8's may be
added to an FW-1884 system as needed for big console functionality with any
DAW system.
Tascam FW-1884 Features:
Comprehensive mixing, automation, editing and navigation tools for DAWs
Eight 100mm motorized touch-sensitive channel faders, one master fader
Dedicated controls for pan, solo, mute and select functions on each channel;
tactile control for four bands of parametric EQ
Shortcut keys for various popular audio software applications
Eight balanced XLR analog mic/line inputs with high quality mic preamps
Phantom power and inserts on every channel
24-bit/96kHz A/D and D/A converters; full 96kHz operation on all analog I/O
channels with compatible DAW software
Eight channels of ADAT lightpipe, stereo S/PDIF inputs and outputs.
Eight analog outputs, allowing connection of L/R and 5.1 surround matrices
Dedicated headphone output
Four MIDI inputs, four MIDI outputs
Word Clock in and out jacks

I use Logic 4.8 in OS9.2 and Garage Band 3 in OSX Tiger. I use a Behringer
BCF 2000 (which is a midi controller with faders and pan pots) to control
every aspect of Logic from mixers to software synths with all their
parameters. I want to use it in Garage Band but I can only control the
volume and pan pots of the currently accessed track with an external
controller.I want to control all the tracks as I do in Logic I understand
that there is a difference in the architecture between GB and Logic. However
Keith Gemmell in a manual titled Garage Band Tips and Tricks names a
controller made by M-Audio called iControl which was designed specifically
for GB that will do exactly what I want. Knowing this if someone could
provide me with GB CC numbers I could program the controller. I certainly
don't want to have to spring for another controller.
I went to Behringer's website but there was nothing available for GB
althoughI haven't contacted Behringer directly ( they have always been most
accesable and helpful in the past with product support)
This is my first posting and I hope I have explained what I wish to
accomplish. If anyone can offer me the info I would be extremely greatful.
This may be helpful to someone. I have a G4 Tower and an external Firewire
400GB . They do generate enough noise to affect audio tracks so I keep them
in a closed sectiion of my workstation which cuts the noise to practically
nil. However the External HD in particular generates some heat, Not wishing
to add a fan to the enclosure and raise the noise level I keep two ice chest
type freezer packs and put one (wrapped in a towel to prevent moisture) in
the enclosure whenever I'm recording.

Hi David. My name is Chris Drury. I run C.D.P.Musicworks which is a home
based studio in Blackpool, Lancashire, North West England where I program
Backing tracks using Logic & Sheet Music using Sibelius. At present I
mainly work with artists who work on cruises, in clubland & dance
schools. I read your advert & I would like more information please. My
details are... E-mail cdpmusicworks@aol.com. Phone. 01253 347189 & Mob.
07904 877473. Regards.. Chris.
I dislike the way Logic arranges chord symbols and slashe chords especially.
i know that i should consider finale or Sibelius if i am doing heavy
notation work...but i justified my upgrade to logic pro by commiting to the
use of logic for notation so i didnt have to upgrade finale.
i looked at the sigler fonts...but those are old and i have read threads
here complaining about them with logic.
any suggestions?
Hi,
I've been away from the EXS24 for over 6 months and recently I'm having
a terrible time
trying to use it.
I've read the LP7 reference and plug in reference manuals and cannot
locate the EXS24 on my
G4 dual nor can I open it.
Previously I had no trouble and I was able to open the sampler and load
and edit the factory
samples as well as some 3rd party sounds.
When I click on the "inserts" word in the audio track mixer the
EXS24
does not appear nor do
the 3rd party sounds.
I'm using LP7.2
Any ideas how I can boot the EXS24 and call up sounds?
Thanks for any help,
Regards,
Jim
I'm replying to myself regarding a tactile controller for Garage Band. I
spoke to the support dept at Behringer and was told that Apple provided
M-Audio with the neccessary information to enable them (M-audio) to develop
the iControl. Behringer aded that Apple
was keeping the info on a proprietary basis and not releasing any contoller
or sys-ex info regarding Garage Band to them or any other manufacturer. So
the iControl is the only game in town. I checked it out and the iControl got
great reviews on all counts. Since it's only a hundred bucks I'll spring for
it. Incidently the support tech at M-audio said it also works great in
Logic Express and Pro..

I used to use toast titanium on my G3. It was so easy to choose some
files then burn. Audio files were easier to manage than stupid iTunes
which forces you to import then create a playlist etc.
I have some folders I want to burn to DVDR on OSX10.3.9 and I don't
know how to do it. I looked at disk utility as a possible option but I
don't know how to use it and the help for 'disk utility' doesn't have
any info on using disk images.
Do I need to buy some software? I don't have a heap of cash so a frugal
solution would be welcomed. Why doesn't OSX have a simple burning
application like 'toast'?
Thanks for any help,
Roman.

Insert a blank DVD, a new drive icon called "untitled DVD" will
appear. Open it and drag your stuff to the virtual drive. Name your
DVD and click eject (or hit command + e). The system will ask if you
want to burn the DVD. It's that easy.
Best,
Andy
I am going crazy trying to understand the S90. It has a manual that
describes the machine in
great detail, but I am unable to discover some fundamental answers.
I want to configure it to play 3 of the internal voices and an external
organ unit.
The voices don't sound the same when I put them in a master to do this, and
I am unclear
about where to select the voices - from Master>Edit, or within the
seq/play settings which
both have independent voices selection dialogues.
Any help very gratefully received!

Logic gurus,
Strangely L7 pro cannot see my GPO files to load into the Kontakt
player.
Kontakt can locate the GPO instrument files via options in the
Kontakt player/users/my user name/library/app. support/logic/GPO
library/Instruments/Dry/(eg) Brass/French horns but they are grayed
out and cannot be selected.
I've loaded these GPO files a few months ago with no problem and the
only thing different in my set up is an upgrade from OS 10.4.9 to
10.4.10
I've seen the advice on the Garritan forum and repaired permissions.
Also, I tried to run the "Cron jobs" suggestion but it refuses to
run. and the Garritan/NI forum and the support url's are not valid.
Does anyone have some knowledge in this theatre?
I'm using a dual G4.
Many thanks for any help,

I am trying to print a PDF book. I have done this successfully before.
I print the 'odd numbered' pages first. Then put the printed paper back
into the printer and print the 'even numbered' pages. Voila! just like
a normal book.
But this PDF has blank pages in it and they are not being printed or
fed through to keep the pages in Sync.
So the result is the printer leaves out any blank pages and the pages
become out of sync.
I need a program that feeds through blank pages to keep the books pages
numbered correctly.
I am now going to try Acrobat reader instead of Preview to see if it
prints blank pages.

I do have some samples from 'Dance Mega Drums 2'. But the range of
sounds is small compared to what I am sure the Simmon's drum synth
could produce. I am listening to some 80's reggae and would like to
emulate the drum sounds.
Ideally a collection of samples that covers a broad range of the
different sounds that could be edited/programmed from the Simmon's
electronic drums would be good. Then I could emulate the records I'm
listening to more accurately.
Any leads to where I could find a large collection of Simmon's drum
sounds?

Hello,
Need to generate SMPTE timecode in Logic Audio 6 running on a mac.
Does anyone know how I can do this? I need to lay it down to a track in
order to stripe a CD.
Can I do this in Audio? Do I need to upgrade to Pro? Do I need an interface,
such as the Unitor 8?
I'm currently running from an Mbox, which is no good!
If anyone could help me, I'd be most appreciative!
Thanks in advance.

Hello, I am looking to buy Logic 5, if anyone has any advice or has a copy
please let me know, thank you
I bought a Quad G5 right before the Intel machines came out. I was
wondering if my performance would be equal to the new 17 inch MBP's?Also, if
I ran a 30inch Cinema Display on the MBP at Full resolution, would it hamper
the speed of Logic Pro?Thanks!Scott.
I would like to use the database system 4D to control Logic via MIDI
(latest version 4D, Mac only would be enough).
Is here probably a developer who can develop a 4D plugin for MIDI?
I don't need many functionalities. Basically just listening on all
MIDI ports and a command to send my own messages. Something like that:
MIDIsend ("InterfaceName";$Port;$MyMessage)

I am able to trigger the TR-Rack via MIDI. I'm playing notes etc as
normal. I can also record the sysex multi dump from the TR-Rack into
Logic. But when I play the sysex dump from Logic the TR-Rack does
nothing. Usually it says 'MIDI dump now recieving data' or something
close to that.
I have used the 'preload' function and the initialise function. Still
not working.
The fact that I am able to trigger the TR-Rack means I have a working
MIDI in connection. The fact that I am able to record the TR-Racks
sysex dump to my computer sequencer (Logic) means I have a working MIDI
out connection.
Any ideas why I the TR-Rack is not responding to sysex dumps?
Is there a further initialisation procedure? I may be imagining it but
I seem to remember pressing and holding a few buttons simultaneously
including the 'reset' button.
Please help.
Roman.
