Does anyone know how you can make logic responsive to a midi expression pedal? Suppose I want to control a filter resonance or pitch sweeep of an EQ. How do I make the connection? I don't see how from looking at Logic (5.5) and of course there is no help file.

You've got to use use Transformer in environment to trasnform Expr. controller to Fader message according to the thing you need to move, and connect that transf. to the needed object. Hi list, does anybody know a MIDI Recorder for creating MIDI Dumps from a digital Mixer (DM-24). It only has to record from one channel and create a *.mid file which can be played back over the windows media player or the program itself. Hi, Anybody using Steinberg The Grand VSTi succesfully in LAPW 5.5.1? Here it plays fine for like 5 minutes or so, then I start to get continious Disk Overload (in The Grand, not LAP). I've tried to tweak TG in all possible ways, even disabled Virtual Memory Manager in EXS24, but with no luck... Any tips/suggestions what I can do to fix this? BTW, I am using version 1.02 which is the latest update/patch. When I reload TG in LAP it stays fine for 5 minutes and then same probs. all over again... Best regards,

I have an extension set for Internet and one for music making. To change sets I have to start up holding the space bar as usual and select the set, but I am still unable to use the internet until I restart again. This time not needing to select the set. This is annoying. Any ideas?

If you then disable some of those extensions, the Mac necessarily has to restart to unload the extensions it had already loaded. Either live with it, or adapt both sets such that they both use the same "extensions prior to loading Ext Mgr". Besides, since a couple of years I never use special extension sets anymore -- I always work with a full set of whatever I fancy, and never have any problems ith them. attempting to backup my TiBook internal drive to an external Firewire drive, i have experienced some troubling results. after backing up tons of samples and song files, the firewire drive has become corrupt. i first ran "disk first aid" and it said that it was "un-repairable due to b-tree errors." i then went to norton utilities 5.0, and it attempts to "fix" the disc but stops mid-way and gives me dialog saying "errors 60 & 23005 have ocurred" and to try and repair again. unfortunately, the troubled drive won't mount AT ALL now. After that, before storing anything on the disk, run Disk 1st Aid, and then Norton, and make sure there are no errors at all (let Norton also do its longish media-scan). I just hope you don't have any data on the FW drive that's not backed-up... What ever you do don¹t use Norton Utilities on OSX! It works fine for OS9 but it will mess up your OSX drive. I agree Disk Warrior is the best out there. Does anyone use the ES1 or ES2 much? I have a Nova and Virus B and wondering if I could replace those with the ES2. The actual synths sound better but that in part is addition of affects. I am not really very impressed with the presets in the ES2 (in demo mode). Also I don't understand how and why the round part rotates. Also are there extra patch libraries? I have a lot of nice patches for the Nova and Virus. I like the EVOC20 for getting some fresh tones. But I am sorry I bought the EXS24. I barely use it and find it clumsy to set up a new instrument, and hard to figure out the file management. Its much easier to drag and drop a load of recycle bits into Battery and have them automatically set up. So this is why I want to ask about the ES's. Of course its nicer having softsynths so there is virtually no noise and so much more control over everything and the patches are right there to edit.
