I am a logic pro user for over a year now. So far I have been using a Power Mac G5 (dual 2.7) and everything has been running perfectly in my amature home studio. However since I am going away from home to study in university I can not bring my G5 and all the equipment with me, . I was considering buying the new intel based iMac and use it with digidesig's Mbox for recording. In general I dont need more than 30 audio channels and 5 midi channels in my recordings, (or 25 audio 10 midi) but I can get quite heavy on the plug-ins that I use. Is this a reasonable amount of pressure that the new iMac could handle without having noticable latency, or am I better off not even trying to use the iMac for recording purposes? If anybody has had any experience with this please let me know. Thank you.
