I'm new to Logic but am loving the heck out of it!!! Can someone assist me
if you load a mapped drum sample into the EXS and you want to have multi
outputs. For Example, Kicks can be assigned to an output of channel 1 Snare
to channel 2 and so forth. Was a little confused with the zones, groups
etc. Maybe someone can dumb it down for me. Love this user group board by
the way. Keep it up!!!!!!

Hi Toshi,
assuming you are running 8. Look in the exs24 editor and click on groups,
the outputs are
listed in the seventh column from the left, click and hold to change.

Hi Matt,
Check the "level via velocity" setting on the front panel - to the
right of the filter section.

Yeah, very similar, except the edit window for exs24 isn't as friendly! You
may have to go to
the groups menu and tell it to show you the group outputs (or is it the view
menu, don't have
it in front of me at the mo!) other than that it should be very similar.
You'll need to create
the aux output object manually and assign them to the exs24s outputs (ie new
audio object
in the environment, change the Channel setting to the next free aux, and
assign the in (in
the i/o box) to the right instrument no. and output) but its all definitely
doable in 7.x (and all
previous vrs. that allowed multi outs.)

I also would like to have such a dl site. Working a lot with demos and
always need new and better sites to help me in the work. Would appreciate
your input.

Hello All,
At the Bolder Sounds website we are offering a free EXS 24 demo
version of a new release - Tibetan Singing Bowls.
The full version is 760 mb of 24 bit samples, while the demo is 20 mb
of 16 bit samples.
Bowl articulations offered are: hits (with various objects) sustained
(puja stick on the rim of the bowl to make it "sing") and sustain
release samples. The six bowls sampled range from 5.75 to 9.5 inches
in diameter.
There are also 2 audio demos of the Tibetan Bowls, one being voice
narrated explaining the various mapping and programming techniques
used in this sound set.
Thanks for your time!

Hello all,
I'm really interested in trying some Soundfonts in the Exs sampler.
However, most sites I go to have "windows only" versions of them.
Still
others require a "conversion" program to unpack them or whatever.
Sorry for my ignorance on the subject - what's the best way to find
good soundfonts for the Mac and unpack/unzip/convert them etc. for use
in the EXS sampler? I'm suing Logic 8.
Thanks in advance!

Don't sue them! Apple is on very tedious financial ground - one
lawsuit could break them. =) (ok, ha ha, I type "suing" for
"using"
all the time too)
Yeah, that sfark thing is a proprietary compression thing for SF's. I
actually have clients often send me the files and I unpack them for
them and send them back, I'll do the same for you if you'd like.
A good reason to have a spare PC around (ow ow, stones flying, ow ow!!!)

HAHAHA! I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that. YES, I meant USING
Logic 8!
Any help in the SOundfont are is greatly appreciated!

(1) Kontakt for Mac can open any type of sound font
and save the individual samples.
If you don't have a PC or a friend near you that could
save you some money.
(2) Bismark free soundfont player also opens any
soundfont on the Mac:
http://homepage.mac.com/bismark/downloads.html
But it just plays them. He has a pay version which I
don't know if you can save it in a different format
and open it in EXS.
I could open sound fonts directly in EXS until version
6.xx the way it is described in the manual. I wonder
what has been changed since.
Best wishes
Jurgen

It still reads and convert any Soundfont you'll throw at it, as fully
documented in the manual, p. 399.
But no sfark or the like.
can you hold a sample for longer than the original in the EXS24??
ie - an organ sound original sample is ----------- long
and i want to play it... ---------------------- long?
thx in advance

Good day exs-users,
I am new to the group and a basic user of Micrologic AV.
Can anyone advise on how I could obtain a copy of the EXS24
application for a Windows machine?
Appreciate any assistance that you may be able to provide.
Selwyn.

You can't :-( . Logic has been a Mac-only product since 7/1/02. Not sure
if someone would be willing to sell you an XSKey with 5.5.1
authorization and even if this would be at all legal, but this is your
only option AFAICT.
Best,
Andy
I have started to use the EXS 24 edit function more recently. Its great for
separating drum kits into aux channels so you can apply different FX /
levels to different parts of the drum kit, especially key bits like kick /
snare.
So the other day, I decided to see what would happen if i Changed the
octaves outputs of a Piano sample. I used a multi-channel plugin, set the
key range of the first zone from C1-B1, second zone to C2-B2, and so on. I
then set their respective outputs to Aux1, Aux2 and so on. I was expecting
no change except which aux the sound came out of.
However, it made all the octaves on the piano identical, so there was only 1
pitch of each note wherever on the keyboard you played it. Can anybody
explain this?
PLease, someone help me, please!
Yes- you need to make sure the "pitch" parameter is enabled. You
can
select all zones and once and click it on - no need to use a
modifier. With this parameter off, every note sounds at the pitch of
the root note of the sample being triggered.
