Well, as a long time user of EXSmanager, I just downloaded my upgrade
to AS and KeyMap.... I am officially SCARED!!! ;-)
These programs are amazing! Andrea, if you are reading this.... you
are a genius.
The depth of these applications are going to require me to do some
serious reading in the coming weeks.

Just curious, did this get caught up in a queue or something
somewhere?? I wrote this as it says above 10 days ago and it just got
posted to the list this evening (12-18-2007).. Ive noticed a few of my
emails on the Absynth User Group taking a day or two to post but the
ones on the LUG seem to be going through as soon as the moderaters do
their moderating..
Just wondering if its me or what?? Admins are ya out there??

Hi Chris
It's the <sarcasm>wonderful</sarcasm> Spam filter Yahoo have
operating on their lists. Not
only is it not very effective, it doesn't light up warnings that it has
caught a mail as it IMHO really should, so yes, your last was unfortunately
overlooked. Sorry about that.
If it happens again, feel free to contact me privately.

Always, if a little busy due to the Redmatica group buy going on here
and on the LUG just now :-)

just checked the group buy link above & Redmatica says the sale is
closed; it doesn't
appear that the group buy has been extended through today. Is there any way
to still join
it?

Well spotted Steve. In actual fact, I confused Andrea as to when the
store should close. We caught it fairly quickly, it was my fault, not
his :-)
It will remain open for roughly 13 hours as from the time of writing
this mail - 18:50 CET.

The Group Buy has now finished, sign ups will no longer be accepted.
Thanks to everyone who participated for helping make this another very
succesful group buy.
Please note, payments must be received by January 5 2008.

Unfortunately we have no control over YahooGroup's own

This is a final reminder that the special on-line store for the
Redmatica/LUG/EXS group buy is closing at 24:00 pacific time / Jan 06 8:00
a.m. GMT, in less than 15 hours from the sending of this mail. Until then
the software is still available to those who signed up at the achieved
discount of 40%. After this, the discount is no longer available.
Everyone who signed up should have received details from Redmatica about how
to proceed with payment and access your software per Download.
If anyone is in any way unsure about this, or has any sort of
question, please contact either myself at this address, or Redmatica
at info@redmatica.com urgently. As we rely on subscribers making up
the numbers to obtain the discounts we negotiate with the developers
who we work with when running group buys, if we have reason to
believe that somebody remained signed up without the intention of
proceeding, and we hear no more from them, it may cause them to be
excluded from future LUG/EXS group buys. Therefore it is very
important to contact us, even at this late stage.

Hi folks,
I just discovered something interesting in Logic 8:
Go to the Channel strip pop-up menu in the Mixer and select something
from one of the Jam Packs
eg : Jam Pack World Music / Mallets / African Marimba
The Garageband instrument [Tuned Percussion] opens up with this sound.
Now, click on the Instrument slot and choose EXS24 instead of Tuned
Percussion
EXS24 opens ...... with the African Marimba already loaded!!
Nice, if you want to take the sound further, edit, etc etc.

Yes, those GarageBand instruments are actually EXS24s in sheep's

Yes, but they do not always sound identical as the EXS24 has some filters
etc. that the Garageband version does not.

You're quite right - but you have the option to choose. For more
"editability", EXS24 is generally far more powerful.
There are thousands of free sounds including seashore sounds here:
Free Sounds - http://www.sounds.beachware.com
In fact, I recorded or made almost all of them. Though they are fairly low
res at 8/22, but small in size.

Hey All
I have been using rex and apple loop files more lately for drums but still
would like to sweeten them with some single hits. I built a nice sounding
kit from A Discrete Drums library single hit collection, and while the
sampler is dealing with velovity splits for different velocity layers fine,
it does not respond to different velocities within the layeres themselves.
For example a snare drum which is assigned to play from velocity 40 to 80
plays at the same volume throughout the velocity range. Can anyone share
the correct way to enable the sample to play correctly with regard to the
velocity? Thanks!
Does anyone know how I can bring my Roland CD-Rom (700 Series) into the EXS
or Logic?

You can use Translator www.chickensys.com $149.95 or Translator
EXS-24 Edition ($79.95) or CDxtract www.cdxtract.com ($139).

Is there an easy way to find which of the thousands of samples on my
EXSamples Folder are not associated with my EXS24 instruments. I would love
to erase the orphaned samples and get back the Drive space.
I am using Logic 8 but the samples in question are from Logic 6 and still
reside in a Logic 6 Series folder set.
I hope this makes sense....

I'm looking for a Fairlight(?) type voice/choir sound (the kind that
can be heard on 'Blue Monday') Searches led me to the omega-art site
but it seems that the raw sample data is no longer available for free
from hollowsun.
Is there anywhere else I might find a free (or relatively cheap)
download of something close?!
Thanks to anyone who can help

Check out Precisionsound.net Angelic Vocal Pads. Not free or necessarily
cheap, but I like the
way they sound. I haven't bought them yet myself, though.

Hi guys,
Within one of my sessions under Logic Pro 7, when I select any audio
instrument track featuring an EXS24 Instrument plugged, and I press the caps
lock everything seems to work as usual, but this virtual keyboard does not
reach the EXS24, and hence no sound comes out when I play from this Caps
Lock keyboard.
However, when I go inside the EXS24 Instrument Editor and I click on any
sample-key of this Editor's dedicated keyboard with the mouse, it works.
As I never use any other keyboard than this Caps Lock one, it's a problem,
cuz I can't record anything on the fly in such tracks.
I've tried working around the midi channel a bit, but it doesn't work
either.
Has anyone a clue of how to make this little keyboard work?
Thanks in advance.
