That would depend on how expensive a 260 MB download is. No doubt these are nice samples: four different samples for each semitone from D2 to E4. The samples are not looped, that's why the file is so large. Ingo

Subject: [EXS] EXS as Vocoder, without sidechain?
Message #15380
Feel like a bit of an interloper as I'm a mere EXSP user, but I'm hoping you guys can help. I use EXSP with Logic Express which, since v.6 has lost the ability to 'sidechain'. This is something I never used, but now it's gone I need to create a vocoder-like effect for a vocal - there are recognisable words in the vocal so I can't just use a 'choir'' sample. So: two questions: 1. Can the 'sidechain' function be used to route vocals through the EXSP to treat them in a vocoder-like way? 2. Now that Logic Express doesn't support sidechaining is there any way to get round this to achieve the effect I'm after? I hope someone can advise. Cheers, Nigel

Subject: Intrument Editor where art thou?
Message #15386
Im using Logic PRO 7 (not express) My problem is trying to find the Intrument editor. The plug-in manual says to go to Audio > EX24 instument editor Unfortunatly my Audio window drops down to Audio window Loop browser... Sample editor Audio mixer Import Audio File... Audio & Hardware drivers... System performance Sample rate Set audio record path... Refresh freeze files And thats all, no option for EX24 instrument editor. I assume I am looking in the wrong place and that I am thick. The EX24 works fine with the instruments provided, but because I cant find the editor I cannot create new intruments. I have just moved from Logic 4 and an AKAI for the convience of creating intruments within Logic. Any help (such as "thats the wrong 'AUDIO' you fool) would be greatly appreiceated. Thanks, CoN L ong L ive L ogic!

Call up an instance of EXS24 in one of your virtual instrument tracks. Double click on EXS24, then once the sampler is in front of you, click on the small Edit button, in the upper right-hand corner. Ned ___ Ned Bouhalassa ___ > > http://nedfx.com < < ::::: ned@nedfx.com ::::

It should be right after Audio Mixer. That's where it is on mine (Logic pro v. 7.1.1) In any case - you can open it directly from within the EXS 24 plugin interface. Nope! I think it might be because I had Express first and then PRO. When I launce Pro, it launches correctly (as pro 7) But when I go to 'About Logic pro' it still says 'About Logic Express' so I must have missed some file when removing express, that is causing EX24 to behave like its lesser couisn and not have the option to edit at all. I have reinstalled 7 and the problem persists! Has anyone any tips on how to uninstall expres completley?

I don't mean to sound accusatory, but are you certain that you have a legitimate copy of Logic Pro 7? I've seen a krack of Logic with symptoms like you describe - that's the only reason I mention it. Try actually physically dragging your autoload over the Logic Pro application icon rather than double clicking.... see if that helps. -------- Eli Krantzberg http://www.nightshiftorchestra.com Almat Productions
