It's at:
http://www.petethomas.co.uk/logic-environment-downloads.html
This replaces the old one, it's much better.
It operates the Logic Fuzz-Wah with a modwheel or other controller and
also has keyswitches for turning on and off.
I use this on saxophones and other things, sounds quite cool.

thanks ned.
I was afraid that the exs does not support key switching. I did
configure a work around with the mod wheel. I have the maestro logic
environment, which is great, but was done back in logic 5, when it was
still available for PC.
any recommendation on what you do instead of key switching?

He said that there is no built-in keyswitching with GOS programming.
EXS and Logic do support keyswitching. (Presumably you mean using notes
to do the keyswitching). You can use keyswitches to trigger different
groups in EXS or to control any switcheable parameters of plugins.
There is an example of this on the bass trombone EXS instrument and the
Wah wah control environment, which are available from my site.

thanks Pete. I downloaded your tute. so keyswtiching is something done
in the environment not in the matrix routing?

EXS certainly does support key switching. Ned is just saying that GOS
doesn't use it.

Keyswitching groups in EXS is done directly in the EXS editor. It's not
completely obvious, you need to make sure you have "select by"
enabled
in the EXS editor View menu. Here you define which note activates which
group.
The other keyswitching download I have is for activating a plugin
bypass. This is done in the environment. It's easy to make a note on
activate bypass on, but the subsequent note off deactivates it, which is
not so useful.
I have set this up so that aone note activates the bypass, the note off
does nothing and a different npote deactivates the bypass. Much more useful.
This is done by using buttons that transform note data to fader data.

Here's what I need to do.
3 sets of upbow samples assigned to the mod wheel. to be triggered
0-64;65-80;81-127
3 sets of down bows assigned to the mod wheel. to be triggered
0-64;65-80;81-127
than to be able to switch between them with a key switch.
I assume this can be done with zones and groups, but not sure how.

Just want to say thanks for all the:
1.really cool advice you give,
2.really cool stuff on your site
Your Gretsch kit has been in a lot of my productions and I have just
finished a piece using the sax growls and laughs samples. I look
forward to using the bass, trb and now the wah.
Good to see you are doing well. Cheers and thanks

I'll join in the chorus Sascha and give you another thank-you.
Hats off to the originator of the list too!

Hi Everyone,
I'm using the EXS24 in L7 for the first time, but I don't like any of
the default snare samples in any of the drum kits. When I load "Rock
Kit" and open the editor, how do I audition the other samples in the
same group, and select a different one? When I click on the "audio
file" field in Zone 17, where the snare sample is listed, a file select
dialog comes up, but all the other samples are grayed out. There's no
step by step how-to in the Plug-in Reference manual for this.
Can anyone help me?

To my knowledge there's no way to combine modwheel crossfading and
keyswitching in EXS. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I was involved
in converting the entire GOS library to EXS last year and couldn't figure
out a way to do that. The Expression patches make extensive use of the
modwheel, and the Combi patches make extensive use of keyswitching, but not
simultaneously.
To check any sample or group of samples,it¹s better to open your sample
folders in the finder, displayed in the column mode,so you can preview any
sample you want instantly.
If you want to do the same job using the EXS editor you¹ll first have
to
load each sample in a zone to hear them in Logic!! Too much time
consuming,isn¹t it?...

You can audition samples in EXS editor before loading them. There is a
play button to audition and an add button to add the samples to a list
before loading in the dialog box you get for "load multiple
samples".
Much quicker than using the finder. No need to create a zone first.

Yeah - and in addition, when exchanging samples of one zone, there's even
the "Auto-Exchange" box which will allow for previewing
samples "in context". So you just keep your sequence playing (or
trigger the note through your keyboard) and use the auto exchange
feature until you find a sample that you like.
(unless this feature has been removed in L7, which would be one of the most
stupid steps backwards)

thanks everyone for all your input, especially Pete Thomas. I was able
to figure it out. you can assign mod wheel info and then use the
:"select by" in the group window to choose your keyswitching. so
now
with THAT function and the GOS environment for logic (available at
garritan site, as well as the whole library for exs
<http://www.garritan.com/GPO-LogicPage.html> I have now been able to
translate all of the GOS library to the exs and keep all it's original
settings. it's a beautiful world.

Hi folks,
Apple have put some new manuals online:

Check p21/22 of the "What's new.." manual for some EXS24 news.

Thanks, guys! I'll try your suggestions.

Can't remember when it was added but you can definitely choose more than
one "select by" for groups. This way you can have select by
control and
select by note so possible to have keyswitches and modwheel at the same
time.

Thanks, Pete, good to know. I may have re-examine some of the GOS EXS
instruments. As recently as February in discussions on the Northern Sounds
Forum that included Gary and Garth, it was agreed that certain multi-layer
Giga functions couldn't be duplicated in EXS. But I think those functions
may have involved combining velocity switching with modwheel crossfading,
and not keyswitching. I'll check it out.

Hey Pete, just played around with that one. Pretty much amazing how nicely
such a simple instrument is doing the job.
I have some simple (yet pretty much larger, 7MB or so) patch of some
Musicman bass sitting around here. It's more or less my default
autoload bass, doing the job just fine too, at least IMO. Not as deep as
yours, still useful. Maybe I'll post it later on.
