BTW, you said you use Logic 4.7. You should grab 4.7.2 from the emagic site.. A few changes, but none to EXS24. Just an FYI. ****** Maybe not if he is in OS 8.6 !! don't know if it's good.... Igor

Well, yes, I only *wish* this worked, but for some bizarre reason it doesn't. I must've tried this thirty times before I decided to give up and post the question to the list. Yes, this should be the way it happens--but it doesn't and I'm going crazy trying to figure out why. Everything else is fine. I'm currently working on sound effects for an animation company. Everything else bounces/saves/etc. fine--except when I create something through the EXS24. It just *won't* allow me to take the sequence I've created, play it with an EXS24 sample (in this case, a frog sample--I'm making the of them sing--don't ask. . .), and then save the result so I can get it out to the client. I'm starting to have "this is what I get for putting away the hardware sampler and working on the road" thoughts. . . There must be *something* not set right *somewhere*, as everytime I hit bounce on the MF, I get a "nothing to bounce" message in the bounce window. There *is* quite a bit to bounce, though, and I'm having a horrible time trying to find out what's telling Logic there's nothing to do. Hence my problem. What should work, doesn't. Any suggestions? I've got to get this figured out by the end of the day, or I'll have to do one note at a time through the Time and Pitch Machine and put it all together the long and difficult way <shudder>. . . - soo PS - Yael--I'm a she, not a he! :) --- In exs-users@y..., "yael" <yael@n...> wrote: > > I've got everything completed--the samples, etc. are working > nicely, all of the notes are in place, and everything sounds great. > Now, how do I make an .aif file of the result? It turns out it's not as "yikes-y" as it could have been. I just updated the software from 4.7 to 4.7.2. . .and for some inexplicable reason everything is peachy keen now. I can now specify the measures to be bounced. I don't understand it either, but I'm *happy*. My froggies are now singing "Down by the old mill stream." Thanks to *everyone* for the help! I'm new here, but I think I'll stick around for a while. Well... I was able to create banks nicely, but when I tried to go and save the bank, I right clicked and selected 'save folder'.. but after I put a name in, and clicked save, it didn't create any file and nothing was saved... Also I tried to simply save my entire logic song and bring it back up.. (with out specificly saving the sampler banks) and the sampler came back.... with the samples 2 oct too low and it also seemed to be missing some of the key groups, too! Bizzare.. Thanks, I'll avoid Halion for a while. Maybe Logic 5 will be compatible. I would always keep my core kits in the EXS, but Halion may offer some nice filter manipulation for tweaking song-specific sound effects or vocal warps. I appreciate the feedback. -Jer > From: "Daniel Kearley" <dkearley@...> > Reply-To: exs-users@yahoogroups.com > Date: Tue, 26 Jun 2001 17:49:22 -0700 > To: <exs-users@yahoogroups.com> > Subject: Re: [exs] Halion? > > Well... Subject: Logic instability after loading EXS24
Message #1395
Hi All Has anybody's Mac (OS 9.1) system become very unstable after installing EXS24 ? I have a Mac Dual 450 (512 of Ram) running Mac OS 9.1 and Logic platinum V4.7.0 (upgraded to 4.7.2 last night with no improvement in the reliability) On launching Logic, I get the message that "Logic failed due to a type 1 error........ save files and restart etc... " Before buying the EXS24 the system was rock solid. Indeed the major instability only sarted whend I loaded up 2 Best Service CD rom samples especially designed for the EXS24 (Drums and Guitars). My feeling is that OMS may be to blame as I sometimes get messages that midi loops are being created within OMS. Hopefully someone is familiar with this solution and can suggest a remedy. Many thanks Patrick

I think it´s good to have HALION, because now emagic will implement some features I´m really missing (like the modulation matrix like Emu-Samplers, Emu Sample support...) -- GMX - Die Kommunikationsplattform im Internet. http://www.gmx.net -- GMX Tipp: Machen Sie Ihr Hobby zu Geld bei unserem Partner 1&1! http://profiseller.de/info/index.php3?ac=OM.PS.PS003K00596T0409a

Message #1397
Does anybody know a good place for downloading midifiles? I´m looking for House/D&B-Grooves with "human" feel. Any recommendations on commercial products? Thank you for helping!

Yes, I'm hoping Halion pushes the EXS development as well. Competition is good. I'm just glad I'm using Emagic. -Jer > From: mofateam@... > Reply-To: exs-users@yahoogroups.com > Date: Wed, 27 Jun 2001 13:52:19 +0200 (MEST) > To: exs-users@yahoogroups.com > Subject: [exs] Re: Halion? > > >> Subject: Re: Halion? >> >> Who needs Halion when we have EXS! > > I think it´s good to have HALION, because now emagic will implement some > features I´m really missing (like the modulation matrix like Emu-Samplers, Emu > Sample support...) > > -- > GMX - Die Kommunikationsplattform im Internet. > http://www.gmx.net > > -- > GMX Tipp: > > Machen Sie Ihr Hobby zu Geld bei unserem Partner 1&1! > http://profiseller.de/info/index.php3?ac=OM.PS.PS003K00596T0409a > > > To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to: > exs-users-unsubscribe@egroups.com > > > > Your use of Yahoo! Can anybody recommend a utility that converts roland CD-Roms to EXS-24 format (sorry if this has been covered before, I'm a newbie here). Thanx, Jeff F.
