Sculpture. Here's are a couple of my demos of the amazing sounds this
thing can make:
http://nedfx.com/TemporaryAudio/Marble.mp3
http://nedfx.com/TemporaryAudio/Metallique.mp3 (every sound is
Sculpture except the drum loop)
I love this thing! But you have to love to tweak... ;-)

Is 'Sculpture' supposed to be a string module? I don't recognized
these demos as sounding much like strings...
I wasn't able to access this site.

That was by choice. You can hear some string examples by using the
Player on the middle left hand side of this web page:

Its a Garage Band instrument simply called "strings."
James
I have been trying to use the next instrument function . The one in the
preferences where you can set up instrument changes with a midi note, a
controler...I can make changes with the wheel but I don't seem to be
having any luck with notes I enter the midi number and nothing. It
worked in L6 but in L7 I can't seem to get it to work. Not sure if it's
pilot error or an insect.
Great sound Ned!

No - the EFM1 is more like a string module.

Garage Band. Strings. Dedicated string module with just real good sampled
strings.
James
Can anyone recommend a site where I can buy just some cymbal samples.
I'm in need of some cymbal swells, but don't want to spend $200 for a full
sample CD. Thanks...
Paul
http://www.gtownsounds.com
I use these all the time....they are free (donations accepted) and
there's a bunch of other great stuff there.

Thanks for the tip Julie. I tried going to the site and couldn't connect.
Its
possible that the site is down. Is anyone else having luck with this site?
Paul
I had no luck as well. I've gotten some nice samples from them in
the past, so I hope they haven't disappeared.

Companies are also more than welcome to announce special

To prevent the list from becoming too commercial in nature,
we ask that any one person or company only post on-topic

Advertising any non-EXS related products will be considered
spamming and will result in your advertisement being deleted,

first clear your message with the list admins by sending it

- Please trim your quotes as much as possible - it saves
a consider about of space if you don't quote entire

- YahooGroups appends several lines of text to each message,

to the bottom of each email. We've had a few list members
start using extermely long signature lines themselves, so
by the time it all adds up a 1 line email could end up
with a 25+ line signature appended to it.
Unfortunately we have no control over YahooGroup's own
signature line. We have shortened the list's own signature,

EXS/sampling related. Anything extremely off topic should

our communal "Emagic off topic" list. This includes
political discussions.

Yep.....same problem here too. His name is Tobias Marberger and the
samples are really nice. I often check back for new stuff. I'm
hoping this is temporary.

Fellow EXS-ers; I am posting this for a friend of mine who is on the
LUG but not the EXS list (not yet anyway). I'll forward any replies to
her. Thanks...... Eli

Hello,
Does anyone know of a piano sample for GIGA or AKAI or EXS that is of
an upright piano? Preferably an old slightly out of tune, loose
hammer type of piano? I'm scoring a scene that takes place in an old
bordello and I'd like to put in some honky tonk piano.
Thanks!

This one has a tinny upright kind of sound.

Don't be fooled by the Grand Piano pictured on the page, doesn't sound like
that.

Hello Judith,
Perhaps you could use a stock EXS Grand Piano instrument
and use the Logic Pitch Shifter plug-in to create the
out of tune effect you're looking for. Hope this helps.

This is not particularly out of tune but being heavily multisampled it
should be quite easy to accomplish. I bought this to get a similar effect
and I was pleasently surprised. Especially the 1908 Clinton has that
saloon/bordello sound.
