(LucyScaleDevelopments) I got some from the Kurzweil website a few years ago - FREE..! A good drone sound and a single melody pipe. I don't know if they're still there, but it might be worth looking. Only thing is, you'll need to load them into a Kurzweil K series sampler then export the .wav or .aif files into your computer to get them to work with EXS (I don't think EXS reads Kurzweil format). If you can't find them, send me an e-mail and I'll try to find them, convert them and mail 'em to you. I don't think the file is very big. Cheers, Andy M.

Message #12729
Andy's solution looks like the most practical, as I do not have Kurz or CDExtract here, and there appear to be problems with the sfx decompression for OSX. All this effort, and it's my wife and son, who are the only Catholic church-goers in the family;-) For anyone who wants to hear the eventual result it's next weekend in Winchester St. Pimlico, London SW1. And all the music should by then be LucyTuned: Vienna-type waltz by Bruno De Florence + bagpipes.. It is a farce after all;-) Charles Lucy - lucy@... Instead of samples, try EMM KNAGALIS at http://www.dashsignature.com/?content=products it's a monophonic ethnic virtual instrument. --- In exs-users@yahoogroups.com, Charles Lucy <lucy@h...> wrote: > Does anyone know of EXS bagpipe samples, which won't cost me an arm and > a leg? > It's for the music for the play "On The Razzle" for my local church's > amateur dramatics society, so zero budget. > > Charles Lucy - lucy@h... Charles, try http://www.sf2midi.com/index. They're free, tons of banks. Most just ask you to give them credit on your CD for using their sample. Can't beat that. Just drop the SF2 files into your Sampler Instruments folder in your Logic Folder. When you go into exs24 & select the sf2 file you want to use, it Logic automatically converts & downloads any sf2 files into exs format. Hope that helps, Mitchell

Subject: Sample Sizzle
Message #12746
Hey there, I had a sample that was behaving fine but then started sizzling with distortion at the beginning of it out of the blue. I changed the start point of the sample in the edit window and then played it again, and it sounded fine the first time i played past the midi event, but then every succesive time it had the sizzle again. Any idea how to remedy this? It's obviously a glitch of some kind..? Thanks, Pete

Subject: Sample Sizzle Part II
Message #12748
I'd really this is an updated glitch but it's very similar - I'm running a p4 2.0ghz system, using lapw in xp - I recently edited a sample by inserting some strip silence. I then energized the last half of the same sample to by boosting the amplitude. Now, a sample that was playing back just fine, is sizzling out and causing an ASIO overload - wasn't able to process all the data in time - error message. Any suggestions!? Please?? :-) Thanks, Pete

I would check your sample partition for fragmented files - see if it shows up in the list. Regards, M
