What computer are you using? What configuration? RAM? OS? I had a similar problem, could not find various samples on the hard drive. Called Emagic, and they pointed me to a download of the Xtreme Analog for OSX files. Still no dice. Then I realized if the Xtreme Analog CD was in the drive of the computer, all the samples loaded up. Bottom line is it NEVER worked with my powerbook. On another powerbook or desktop, it worked fine. It only works on my powerbook if I have the samples on the external drive. Even with a reformat and clean install of the OS, it never worked. Try those things....If all else fails, call Emagic tech support, they were very helpful. John

Thanks - I'm using a dual 2 ghz G5, Panther 10.3.2 - 1.5 gb of RAM - all files located on the primary hd - tried with and without the CD in the drive. Might you have the link for the OS X files from emagic? I'm trying to reach them, but the phone is almost always busy.... thanks

Message #11205
I'm sure I missed this somewhere in the documentation (incidently under X i know longer have an EXS help file), but does anyone know how to multiple select samples in the editor. I want to trim down a patch with too many layers/notes and selecting the samples and deleting them one at a time is soooooo tedious. Thanks Frank

You can select them one at a time, select all, or select all samples in a group. If you want to delete selected samples within a group, you're stuck with option one.

Subject: Convert from Halion?
Message #11208
Greetings, fellow EXSers, I'm wondering if there is any way to convert Halion programs (.fxp or .fxb files) to EXS24. My Cubase-based friend has made some very nice sample sets of his drums, and we are hoping to do a little cross-platform collaboration. The sound files are all in WAV format, so there is no trouble reading those, but if we could somehow translate the actual sampler instrument files, we would save quite a lot of time not needing to redo the velocity and key mapping. Neither CDXtract nor the Chicken Systems translator will convert from the Halion format. Any suggestions? Thanks, Paul

This guy named Charles E. H. Lucy has his own tuning system and he took some EXS instruments I made and "re-tuned" them. May be they can give you some ideas? ===="You blow in this end of the trombone, and sound comes out the other end and disrupts the cosmos." But I have to admit it's actually not much of programming done. It's been awhile since I did it , but I think one of the reasons it kind of works is because the accordion player played quite even, but not quite.:-) And that makes it sound a bit lively when you play it. Nice things on your webpage btw. @nders

I know this isn't a direct answer to your accordion question, but the Roland JV/XV series has a wonderful set of accordions on their "Super Sound Set" card. I believe it's in one of their SRX boards also- possibly the world collection, but I can't vouch for that. For these patches, or any other accordions for that matter, going in and randomly detuning just a bit adds to the realism and beats within chords.
