I suspect this is something to do with the initial authorisation of the EXSP24. When you first attempt to load an EXSP24 instance Logic will demand that the CD be put in the drive and it will attempt to run through the authorisation procedure. I would try putting the CD for the EXSP24 in your CD drive (the one you installed from might be best) then open an empty song and try to open an instance of the EXSP24 and see what happens.
