Just assign the midi track to an EXS instance instead of some
external machine. I.e. insert the EXS in e.g the "Audio Instr 1"
channel strip. Then assign the Arrange track to "Audio Instr 1".
Very straightforward really.
If you want to process base & snare separately you can either use the
multi-out version of the EXS (needs LA5.2+, if I remember correctly),
or use separate tracks indeed.
For multi-out use, insert the EXS as a multi-instrument instead of a
stereo instrument. Change the instrument definition in the EXS
instrument editor to route different instruments to different outputs
-- like snare to out3-4 and base to out5-6. Then set up 2 Aux
objects, and pick those EXS outputs as their input. EXS outputs 1-2
will "come out of" the regular EXS channel strip. Outs 3-4 and 5-6
will come out of the 2 Auxes.
If you want to use separate tracks, just load 2 more EXS's with the
same instrument in e.g. Audio Instr 2&3 and assign those to two
Arrange tracks. Copy the EXS drum-sequence and paste it twice on the
two new tracks. Now delete anything you don't need from the 3 sets
of sequences, or, if you have a recent LA version, use the mute-tool
in the Matrix editor to mute the redundant notes.
