This is just an opinion based on conjecture. Here is another :- it is also
widely known (outside of Emagic as well) that the VST hosts documentation is
woefully inadequate, so host developers other than Steinberg have to reverse
engineer and downright guess some stuff. Which is why some problems can
occur.
There's a reason that Cubase still supports the VST standard better than any
other VST host.
