Subject: Steinway B Giga file import
Message #5919
Hi everyone I have read the emails regarding the The Grand. I have been able to install the Steinway B giga sample in Logic 5.2 It took 4 minutes to convert and came out as 516 samples at a total of 1.56 gig. And it sounds great and is not killing my Windows XP Pro PIII 1 gig with 512 mb of ram machine. I had it running with 32 (24bit 48K) audio tracks and no problem. Also it even bounced down with no problems. Just a idea for anyone who needs a nice sounding piano file. I have the gigapiano as well it is ok but the Steinway sounds alot better. The way I installed it was I installed the giga file of the steinway into gigastudio under Windows 98 SE. The orginial file is two cd roms. Once I installed it I copied the gigafile into logic and the logic did the rest. So therefore you can take the Steinway B giga file which is about 910 mb winzip it up which makes it about 600 mb and back up the winzip file on a CD Rom. And install the backed up WInzip file on the XP system and only use logic. This is great because I never have to use Gigastudio again or Windows 98. Just a Idea. Mark
