(it was actually me writing that :-) - in a dedicated drumsampler it's much easier to adjust settings for the individual sounds on the fly - it's easier to see what you're doing - every sound in Battery can be given a name. - drag & drop samples from explorer (or finder) and between cells - extra functions (loop + count), shaper, envelope (pitch & amplitude), tune, bit reduce - flexible modulation matrix (also random as source) - velocity crossfade But i'm sure DR-008 has also a lot of these things and more! Battery is not *better* I actually use Battery because it was the first user friendly VST drumsampler. I tried LM-4 but making kits with this one was a pain. I tried DR-005 (predecessor of DR-008) but that one crashed on me when it couldn't find its kits in Logic (I exchange songs with my fellow Galbatron musician that has of course another path to store the kits on his machine). What's easier than drag & drop the samples from Explorer and see everything you're doing (cells blinking, all parameters directly available on screen). I almost never use accoustic drums, so the elektro kits delivered with Battery are a good addition for me. It's also very simple to change the sounds in a wink, so they're not identified as 'the preset kits' :-). It's a pity it doesn't have a filter (or filters). Battery also imports S1000 (has been optimized in the last update) so accoustic kits won't be a problem sing a good library I guess. But i'm sure DR-008 has also a lot of these things and more! Battery is not *better*. I'm getting in to DR-008 more and more and it's also very good! When you're on Windows it think I would recommend it as the best value for money. BTW: If you're a 'sound searcher' (letting your song play and try out all your 45627 samples on your HD within the context of a song) DR-008 can do this best. It can play with opened load dialog and you can try all sounds in the dialog with cursor keys. Not possible with Battery (nor EXS!).
